We heard some delicious news from Crain’s via Eater—Doughnut Plant is moving its operations to LIC’s Falchi Building! Not only will production and administration be here in LIC, but you’ll be able to buy their donuts there.

“The new space will serve as the firm’s headquarters and will be Doughnut Plant’s largest production facility. The company will also have a small retail kiosk where it will sell doughnuts.”

Doughnut Plant is well-known in NYC (and beyond) for creating donuts with flavors the go beyond the raise glazed, chocolate cake, and french cruller. Just looking at their website right now, they are now offering a mole donut (not flavored like rodents but flavored like the sauce), black sesame, concord grape, and more. Here is a photo of me from 2007 eating a donut from their shop in the LES:

Yes, I AM licking my fingers. I remember it tasting very good.

Eater mentions that the factory goings-on will be visible to the public: “the kitchen will be glassed in so visitors can watch as the magic happens.” Doughnut Plant will occupy 8,495 square feet of the Falchi Building.

Welcome, Doughnut PLant, to LIC!
