They are hyping the other ways to get to LIC than the 7 train, including E/F/G/N/Q/R lines. And then there’s the free shuttle bus that gets you from Queensboro Plaza to the Court Square, Hunters Point, and Vernon/Jackson 7 stops. Truth be told, I took the shuttle bus four times this weekend and it wasn’t bad, but if you are used to taking the 7 train “one stop from Grand Central” into LIC, it is much more of a hassle.

If you are spending time in LIC and want to tell people on social media, consider using the hashtag #ExperienceLIC. This neighborhood has so much to offer, it’s worth taking the shuttle. Or, consider the East River Ferry! It’s a crazy short ferry ride from 34th Street in Manhattan—maybe 5 minutes tops? It drops you at the new Hunters Point Park, and then it’s only a 10 minute walk to the Vernon Jackson area (shorter to Center Boulevard). Definitely worth considering.
