The Chonut 2.1 will make it’s NYC debut this Saturday at Rockaway Brewing Company from 3pm-10pm. Perhaps you know about the Chonut? The salty and sweet donut and Korean BBQ combo made famous by Kim Chi Smoke Pop Up Southern Korean BBQ?
The original NYC Chonut consisted of smoked brisket, bacon, runny egg, American cheese, Fatboy Bourbon Chipotle Sauce (BCS), on a buttered fried brioche with powdered sugar.
Subsequently, Version 2.0 was smoked brisket, pulled pork, Fatboy BCS, smoked kimchi, mac and cheese sauce, on a glazed donut.
And NOW prepare for the Chonut 2.1. Kim Chi Smoke teamed up with Glaze Donuts of Ridewood, NJ, to create a salted caramel glazed donut which will serve as the base for the newest version. Add to that some smoked brisket, pulled pork, Fatboy bourbon chipotle sauce, smoked kimchi, cheddar cheese and scallions.
The fun begins at 3pm and goes until 10pm at Rockaway Brewing Company. Fun for all, but perhaps a perfect Kick off Father’s Day weekend?
